Description
Hermès size 32 Retourne-style Kelly bag in 'Cuivre' colour 'Fjord' leather with silver-tone hardware.
The Kelly Retourne style is relaxed and slouchy with a soft silhouette. Technically, the construction of all Kelly bags starts like a Sellier, but the artisan will turn the bag inside out. Hence, the name Retourne, which literally means “reversed”. The Kelly Retourne has smoother outside seams which are covered by leather piping along the sides instead of the resin edging of the Sellier.
Fjord has a flat, wide grain (much like Hermès Togo leather and Clemence), and it is renowned for having an elegant matte appearance. Though the texture is supple with a velvet-like finish, the leather is rather heavy and completely waterproof. Fjord is often used for large bags, as the skin is hard-wearing and is able to withstand trying weather conditions.
