Verrou bag: From lock to clasp. In the eyes of the goldsmith, a horse stall latch becomes a jewel clasp, making the ordinary sublime.
An inspired detail demonstrating that everything can be transformed. 

This brass clasp is made up of twenty-five pieces. A complexity that is eclipsed by the simplicity of its movement. With just one glide, it captures secrets as well as glances.

Verrou tells the story of a small structured bag with a curved flap. The geometric cut-out around the clasp plays with roundness without ever losing its hold. – Hermès

The Hermès Verrou 21 is a structured luxury shoulder bag famous for its sliding metal lock clasp, inspired by a horse stable latch. The Verrou started as a simple rectangular clutch. Hermès later transformed it into a modern shoulder bag and while the Verrou gets less mainstream attention than models like the Birkin or Constance, the style is viewed as a niche IYKYK collector's piece. This model is crafted from grained Epsom leather in Gold, with contrasting white stitching, gold hardware and an exterior back slip pocket. Inside, the bag is lined with buttery soft smooth leather with a total of five pockets.

Hermès Epsom leather is a lightweight, embossed calfskin known for its rigid structure, fine cross-hatched grain, scratch resistance, and vibrant colour absorption.
