Cartier Trinity Vendôme 18k Tricolor Gold Wristwatch. 

The Vendôme watch was introduced in the 1980s as a bridge between Cartier’s heritage and contemporary design. Like other Must de Cartier watches of that period, its origins trace back to Louis Cartier’s early sketches. According to fashion legend, one evening Louis Cartier noticed a detail on a carriage harness, which led to the concept of a watch where the strap would be connected to the case at twelve o’clock by two knuckles – a design principle later known as the "knuckle" watch. However, it wasn't until 1933 that he brought this idea to life in a timepiece, which ultimately inspired the Vendôme L.C. of the 1980s. In the 1990s, Cartier expanded the Vendôme collection with new variations, including the Vendôme Trinity.

This model features a distinctive triple-stepped round case made from of yellow, white, and rose gold, and an alligator embossed glossy black leather band with gold buckle. It has Roman numeral hours on a white face, a quartz movement and sapphire glass. 

The Trinity Vendôme exemplifies why Cartier is often hailed as the "master of shapes." The maison’s ability to create unconventional, boundary-pushing designs which remain timeless, solidify its place in horological history.
